Shenanigans Irish Pub and Sports Bar (Rua Visconde de Pirajá)
It is immediately obvious upon walking into this establishment that you are entering into an Irish bar. There is that special atmosphere and friendly attitude that is so often associated with Irish hospitality. There are darts boards, pool tables and many TVs showing sport from around the world.
Lord Jim Pub (Rua Paul Redfern)
This is probably the best English Pub that you will find in Rio di Janeiro. It has all the hallmarks of a traditional English pub, with everything from the decor to the beers having a familiar feel to them. There are also good snacks to choose from and all of the big sports matches from the UK.
The Irish Pub (Rua Jangadeiros)
This pub des exactly what it says on the tin, it is a traditional Irish pub ran by traditional Irish people. The food is great and you are always guaranteed a good atmosphere to go with your Guiness.
Waxy’s Irish Bar (Rua Vinícius de Moraes)
Another of the Irish bars in the city, this is a more contemporary approach to the Irish drinking culture. As well as being a popular day time venue for a quiet drink it is also a thriving night venue which guarantees a great party.
Big Ben Pub (Rua Muniz Barreto)
This bar is worth a mention for its sheer Englishness alone. There are karaoke nights and even a dart board to make the ex pat feel truly at home.
